I would know intelligent people by all the things they are not doing.

Intelligent people have no desire to control others. They are propelled by their own strength and self-control.

They are not:

Negative.

Afraid of their own company.

Just talkers.

Hearing but mostly thinking about what to say next.

Figuring out how to manipulate and convince people into their way of thinking.

Trying to get out of difficult situations.

Judging.

Intelligent people are just open-minded and adaptable.

Many times, they ask quest

ions, not to be redundant or difficult but to better understand situations and most of all to learn.

That is how intelligent people give you their best by being the best.

They adapt to situations quicker than others.

I believe Mahatma Gandhi was right when he said:

“Adaptability is not imitation. It means the power of resistance and assimilation.”

Intelligence was never about being this powerful person whom everyone is afraid of.

It is the ability and willingness to show modesty to others.

And the will to empathize with people.

And being curious.

“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein

And being optimistic.

“When we are happy — when our mindset and mood are positive — we are smarter, more motivated, and thus more successful. Happiness is the center, and success revolves around it.” Shawn Achor

Those who choose to listen to others, who have high self-control and who have a strong desire to help others are better people who change themselves and the world.

Those who choose not to, will remain a less person. Will remain a less intelligent person.

You will know that you are intelligent if you are humble. You ask questions only if you are humble. You choose to learn from others only if you are humble. You are curious as a result of your empathy.

You get out of your own way and be a better person only if you don’t make yourself the center of everything. Thinking that “ everything should revolve around you “ is the enemy that is preventing you to get out of your own head and be really out there in the real world.

You know that you are intelligent when you do not go around trying to prove that you are right to everybody. You don’t need to do that. You know yourself. You trust and believe in yourself. Nothing and no one can take that away from you.

That is why you accept mistakes because you’ve learned that they are part of life and they are making you stronger as a person. Because you have failed repeatedly you know that you are not afraid of failure.

How can you be when they have shaped you into this amazing intelligent person that you have become?
