Love IS NOT:
Expecting something from others without giving yourself.
Sitting in your couch and just saying ‘ I love you’.
Pride. It is not you saying ‘ you have not given me something, so I am not giving you anything ‘. Love is not tit for tat.
A quid pro quo. Love is not ( I do it for you and therefore you should do it for me).
Shouting ‘ I love you’, ‘ You are my everything ‘. Love is not saying the words without backing them up with your actions that show that you love.
Ignoring your part while the other person is doing his part.
“They do not love that do not show their love.” William Shakespeare
Words are powerful, but people will only buy them if they are backed up with substance.
If you say you’re something, you must also be one. If you say you love someone, you must show that special someone you love every single day through your actions.
One of the best ways to show the people in your life that you love them is by radiating positive energy.
When your people are with you, they should feel your smile. They should feel your positive energy. They should feel like they are sitting next to a beautiful flower that is attracting anything that is passing through that way.
“How can they see your love when you are moaning doom-and-gloom the whole day?”
If you say that you love someone, show your love by:
Giving the most important possession that you have: your time and your undivided attention,
Believing in that person,
Supporting his/her dreams,
Not judging that person,
Not getting in the way of his/her life goals,
Acknowledging their hard work and efforts,
Being grateful for their existence in your life,
Going out of your way to do something unexpected for your loved ones like (writing a personal letter that they did not expect, booking a massage, buying a book they have been talking about, calling them when they are sad, etc.)
I can’t tell you the number of times I am with a person I love (friend, family member, significant other, even co-worker) and I am suddenly brought to a halt by a question from my inside:
“When was the last time you have done something unexpected for this person that you love?”
It is easy to take love for granted. It is easy to say ‘ I love you ‘. It is easy to confuse words that convey love with an action that you are supposed to take every single day.
I get that we are swamped in our lives but one day you will look at someone you love and wonder how he/she has become a stranger. It does not matter that your intention was not to become strangers.
Without showing your love, you cannot say your love is full, meaningful, and radiant.
We show our love to others through OUR ACTIONS.
To your inspirations,
