How can you improve your communication skills?
I have a friend who is an amazing communicator.
He has the very best communication skills.
He knows so many things and yet when he sits with someone to have a conversation — you do not see him ceaselessly talking.
Rather, he as if he doesn’t know anything. As if it is his first time he has heard about the subject matter.
You cannot help but like this person who has an emotional intelligence.
He respects people’s emotions.
He does not try to control these flow of emotions.
Rather, he let them be.
He looks at you when he talks to you.
He looks at you when you talk to him.
He gives you the most precious gift when you converse with him.
He gives you his full attention.
He is right there with you.
He does not confuse you.
He uses the correct body language when you communicate with him.
His words are the same as what his posture is saying.
His facial expression is similar to what he is saying to you.
You feel like you are valued.
You feel like an important person in your conversations — because he tells you what you have been talking about in his own words.
You feel like you have won a medal when you hear your own words from someone else.
He has the audacity to shock you by being .
When he speaks — he speaks up.
He speaks his mind!
He stands by his principles.
He does not leave them stranded somewhere.
He has the ability to effectively manage disagreements.
He believes in the right of everyone’s opinion.
He believes in all individuals having their own voice.
He is the best learner in the world.
He gets into every conversation with the intention of learning something.
He is always ready to learn from others. To learn from yesterday.
He is coachable!
He does not bore people.
He sends his messages wrapped up in the form of stories.
